Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Operations Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of our Mitcham Fulfilment Centre. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, high service levels, and strong team performance.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong leadership skills, attention to detail and a “can‑do” approach.
Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week
- 5 days over 6, Monday to Saturday – Nights
- Flexibility required to meet operational needs
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Manager in delivering required service levels and resolving operational issues
- Manage and support colleagues within the centre to ensure consistent performance
- Oversee customer service standards, including pre‑7:00am deliveries, welcome packs, mover packs, leaflets, substitution notes and product availability
- Ensure service levels are maintained in line with customer expectations and handle customer complaints in accordance with company procedures
- Manage product stock levels to maximise availability at the lowest possible cost
- Hold daily conversations with Delivery Drivers, including same‑day follow‑ups once first deliveries have been completed
- Liaise with daytime Management to manage staff holiday bookings to maintain adequate cover across routes, reliefs and centre operations
- Maintain temperature control systems within the centre and across all routes, including data loggers, etc
· Manage night-time rota to ensure ALL routes are covered following any absences.
What You Should Expect
- Supporting a night operation, ensuring all routes are covered and service levels are delivered to required standards
- Occasional requirement to cover routes or internal roles to support operational continuity
Skills & Experience
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Strong people management and communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- A positive, proactive attitude with a desire to consistently exceed customer expectations
Pay: Up to £38,500.00 per year
