Element Recruitment are working with a growing business who are looking for a Business Development Manager to join them on a permanent basis.
In this role you will take ownership of a regional territory across the South West and South Wales and will focus on developing new business opportunities while also growing existing accounts, working closely with external partners.
You will be acting as the face of the business in your region and will manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement through to closing deals and ongoing account development. Sales sits at the centre of the organisation, with all teams aligned to support winning new business and delivering an exceptional customer experience!
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed sales and margin targets within your territory
- Identify, engage, and win new B2B customers
- Develop and grow existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling
- Conduct regular face-to-face meetings, site visits, and product demonstrations
- Understand customer needs and convert them into commercial opportunities
- Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and presentations
- Negotiate terms and close profitable deals
- Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline, and forecasts via CRM
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity within your region
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction
- Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities
- Manage customer queries through to resolution in a timely, professional manner
About You:
- Proven experience in B2B field sales, business development, or account management
- Strong track record of winning new business and growing accounts
- Confident, consultative sales approach with the ability to influence decision-makers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Highly self-motivated, organised, and results-driven
- Able to manage your own diary and territory effectively
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region, with occasional overnight stays
- Experience within a related sector (e.g. interiors, furniture, or trade-based environments) is advantageous but not essential
- A collaborative team player with a positive and proactive attitude
This role is paying £45,000 - £47,500 basic salary + uncapped commission + car allowance.
You will be required to be in the Bristol office at least once a week, with the rest of the time spent visiting clients.
