We are currently seeking dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN / SEMH school in Bolton, supporting young people aged 11–19 with a wide range of special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable learners. You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils within the classroom as well as providing 1:1 support, helping students to engage with learning, regulate emotions and develop positive behaviours.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEN and SEMH needs
- Working both in-class and 1:1 with students
- Assisting with learning activities and behaviour support strategies
- Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in SEN, SEMH or alternative provision (preferred)
- OR strong transferable skills from roles such as youth work, care, mental health, or behaviour support
- Confident and resilient when working with challenging behaviours
- Calm, patient and consistent in approach
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
