About the role
Were looking for a motivated Planning Assistant to join our Planning Issues team, based at our stunning Head Office in Ringwood, Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in town planning, planning administration and development support within a busy, supportive planning environment.
You will carry out a range of preparatory, research and administrative duties for the Planning Issues team, including planning policy research, condition discharge support, Section 106 monitoring, planning application preparation and general planning administration.
Your duties will include:
- Undertaking planning policy research, local plan monitoring and background planning searches

Supporting the preparation, coordination and submission of planning applications and related documents

Assisting with the compilation, formatting and binding of planning reports, application packs and supporting documentation

Maintaining accurate spreadsheets and trackers for planning conditions, Section 106 obligations, financial contributions and application progress
This is an office-based role; the hours of work are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Fridays.
About you
We would like you to have a genuine interest in starting a career in town planning, development planning or planning administration. Previous experience in a planning, property, construction, legal or administrative support role would be welcomed but is not essential.
You will have excellent keyboard and administration skills, with confident use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to maintain accurate records, spreadsheets and planning documentation.
You will be organised, approachable and detail-focused, with a friendly can do attitude and clear, professional communication skills, as you will liaise with colleagues, consultants and individuals at all levels.
