Apple Trees are looking to recruit two Support Worker - Nights and three Support Worker - Days to work in our progressive and 'Outstanding' short break service supporting children and young people who have a learning disability, autism, physical disability or complex health needs. These young people may have had adverse childhood experiences which need to be considered alongside their disabilities and additional needs.
We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment; responding to the needs of the children and young people and responding to emergency situations as they arise.
The work at Apple Trees is challenging but highly rewarding. You will need to be confident that you have the strength of character and ability to cope with the challenges the work may bring.
This type of care needs to be closely monitored and recorded, and specific risk management plans need to be in place in order to ensure the safety of the young person, therefore prioritisation and organisation skills are key.
The role involves providing personal care , administration of medication, completing of records, along with attendance at team meetings / training during the day.
The candidate must be over the age of 22 and have experience of supporting children and young people with these types of needs and have experience of working in a residential setting or relative experience .
Diploma level 3 which is equivalent to NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care/Children and Young people or be working towards or the ability to attain this within a specific period of time, other equivalent qualifications to be considered (in an associated field i.e. Child Care, Youth Work, Working with Children and Young People).
