Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + Performance Bonus

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Children's Residential Registered Manager to lead a high-quality children's residential home in Coventry, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an exciting opportunity for an established Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to take the next step in their career. You will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive, develop resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and delivering outstanding standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and management of the children's home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding, child-centred practice, and positive outcomes.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated team through supervision, training, and performance management.
- Develop and maintain care plans, risk assessments, and placement plans tailored to individual needs.
- Monitor and improve service quality through audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, recruitment, and retention strategies.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, families, education providers, and external agencies.
- Manage budgets effectively and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Participate in the management on-call rota and provide leadership during emergencies.
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, driving the service towards achieving a Good or Outstanding rating.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a management role within a children's residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and children's rights.
- Experience working with children and young people with EBD and complex needs.
- Thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to inspire and develop teams while maintaining high standards of care.
Desirable Experience
- Experience opening or developing a new children's home.
- Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
- Knowledge of attachment-informed and trauma-informed practice.
- Experience managing budgets and service development.
- Understanding of local authority referral processes and commissioning.
