Overview
We're building a new AI company focused on transforming how construction projects are measured, estimated, and costed.
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work directly with the founder for a two-week engagement.
The founder has spent several years working in Artificial Intelligence and product development, but is new to quantity surveying. The goal of this engagement is to combine deep quantity surveying expertise with modern AI capabilities to explore how construction estimating can be dramatically improved.
During the engagement you will:
- Produce real pre-construction cost estimates for live contractor projects.
- Explain your workflow, decision-making process, and methodology as you work.
- Help identify opportunities where AI could accelerate or automate parts of the estimating process.
- Provide feedback on product concepts and help shape the company's long-term vision.
- Work closely with the founder in a highly collaborative environment.
Requirements
Essential
- 5+ years' experience preparing contractor pre-construction estimates.
- Strong understanding of measurement, take-offs, pricing, and tendering.
- Able to clearly explain your thinking and approach.
Preferred
- MRICS or other relevant chartered status.
- Interest in technology, automation, or AI.
Exceptional non-chartered candidates will also be considered.
