Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pre-school Kitchen Support staff member to assist with meal preparation and kitchen organisation within a vibrant early childhood education environment. This role is vital in ensuring that young children receive nutritious, well-prepared meals in a safe and hygienic setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and experience in culinary or hospitality settings, contributing to a positive and nurturing atmosphere for our preschoolers.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients under supervision.
- Support the cooking process by preparing simple meals and snacks suitable for young children.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist in serving meals to children in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Ensure all food handling complies with hygiene regulations and safety protocols.
- Help with the storage of ingredients and supplies, ensuring proper labelling and stock rotation.
- Support staff during mealtimes by helping set up tables and clean after meals.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe environment for children and staff.
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable.
- Experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or similar culinary environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of kitchen safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with serving food in a childcare or educational setting is beneficial but not essential.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
