Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Working Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, supervising experience, and proficiency in Primavera P6. This role requires leadership, strategic planning, and effective communication to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality. The successful applicant will play a vital role in managing teams, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring health and safety compliance throughout all phases of construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project execution.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as necessary.
- Coordinate project activities, resources, and timelines to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
- Oversee health and safety protocols on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.
- Manage procurement processes, including sourcing materials and equipment required for each phase of the project.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality, safety standards, and adherence to design specifications.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to communicate project status and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare progress reports, documentation, and project updates for senior management.
- Manage budgets, labour allocation, and resource planning effectively to optimise productivity.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within the construction industry with a track record of supervising teams on large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar project management software is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management or civil engineering are preferred but not essential if accompanied by substantial practical experience.
