To monitor and coordinate Apasen Day Care Services and play a leading role in assisting and providing the highest standard of professional support in creating and sustaining an environment that will enable each individual service user using the services to achieve their maximum potential. To monitor the day-to-day operational efficiency of the Service Centre.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To coordinate and monitor operational activities in line with modernising day care practice for Day Care Services in terms of administration, and service delivery on a day-to-day basis.
2. To monitor and supervise Day Care Workers and any other staff working in Day Care Services.
3. To enable people in promoting their independence in their everyday living as their disability allows, retaining their individuality, dignity, developing confidence and offering particular support to those with learning disabilities, mental health problems and other special needs through the delivery of Day Care support.
4. To take lead responsibility for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, coordinating the training of staff, overseeing, and supervising investigations and offering advice and guidance on policy and procedures.
5. To plan for support to clients in meeting physical and mental needs in carrying out different day to day tasks e.g. washing, bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, mobility etc. as part of the individual needs covered by a personal care plan.
6. To plan for support to clients so that they receive stimulation and motivation through conversation and social activity and to encourage the users to see and grasp wider opportunities for physical and mental self-fulfilment. To promote equality of opportunity, choice, privacy, dignity, rights, independence, and fulfilment of service users.
7. To make arrangement for supports to clients who require assistance with their personal shopping, training, sports activities, swimming and other outings and trips.
8. To establish a good relationship of mutual trust and respect with understanding and tolerance in relation to the wider variety of users’ personal needs and request for assistance.
9. To remain professional in all situations always maintaining confidentiality, only discussing personal matters in agreement with all concerned and in approved settings.
10. To plan for the support to the clients in developing life skills within the Day Care set up and outside wherever necessary.
11. To be aware of the legislation, regulations and procedures affecting the delivery of the services. This will include Health & Safety, First Aid, Health & Hygiene, Fire Precaution, Adult Protection Procedures, Issues around disability, Confidentiality etc.
12. To arrange training for Day Care Workers on legislation and procedures required for the effective delivery of Day Care Services provision.
13. To take lead responsibility for maintaining accessible systems for gathering Complaints, Concerns and Compliments and views from the Monthly Service User Forum and collating this information into Wider Team meeting which have recommendations for continuous improvement as service provided to service users and their families.
14. To be able to respond effectively in an emergency.
15. To monitor the key working system, ensuring that standards are maintained.
16. To attend staff meetings as required and to ensure that personal capabilities and competencies are maintained through the supervision and appraisal system along with agreed training.
17. To carry out monitoring tasks required for the service e.g. record keeping, maintaining staff personal files, client records, staff time sheets etc. and ensure that these are updated on a regular basis.
18. To provide written and verbal reports for Day Care Services as required by the CEO or the Management Board.
19. To attend regular staff supervision session with the Service Manager.
20. To attend user conferences, parent/guardian’s and steering committee meeting using our services as required ensuring that their point of view in listened to and where appropriate acted upon.
21. To work with other members of the staff team to ensure a coordinated approach.
22. To contribute to the review and assessment of the care packaging system ensuring people’s progress is monitored.
23. To ensure that all facilities in Day Care Service are in working order and in line with appropriate legislation.
24. To ensure that all contracts and leases for employees and for the building are in date and in order.
25. To coordinate day to day operations of the Day Care Service, ensuring full and appropriate staffing levels, workforce efficiency and effectiveness.
26. To take immediate action where any of the above is not in order, either to find an immediate solution, record it and report it or to escalate to higher level management depending on the issue found.
27. To analyse and improve organisational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
28. To ensure expense control and cost-effective use of all facilities within Day Care Services
29. To monitor quality assurance and research new alternative methods of efficiency and quality day care provision.
30. To oversee the facility layout and its uses and ensure that it is as effective as possible within the budget restrictions given.
The post holder is required to maintain full confidentiality relating to client’s personal information (while being employed at Apasen and after leaving the job) and must only be discussed within the confines of the work setting with the appropriate member of staff.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
