Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Assembly Support Technician to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
To support Assembly Operators in delivering high-quality products safely, efficiently, and on time by providing hands-on assistance, resolving process issues, preparing materials, and ensuring adherence to quality and production standards.

Provide direct shopfloor support to Assembly Operators during builds which include:

Progressing/moving assembled orders to the next operation including the testing stages

Updating the order tracker system to mirror the movement (Layered WIP)
-
Ownership of consumable stock for the department which includes updating the stock system, ordering and issuing to operators
-
Ensure all required work order components are available to each operator before work starts

Locating picked materials (including locating hose)
Utilise/create a KANBAN system to replenish work order components on each workstation

Manage the order tracking system to update status of the order (Layered WIP)

Assist with set-ups, changeovers and line readiness
Help maintain smooth workflow to maximise output and minimise downtime

Support operators in completing quality checks and documentation

Verify components match job requirements prior to assembly

Help reinforce adherence to manufacturing tolerances and work instructions

Escalate quality concerns early to Team Leader/Department Manager
Promote and enforce safe working practices

Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment

Identify and report hazards, unsafe behaviours, or equipment faults
-
Monitor production performance and highlight inefficiencies
-
Act as first responder for minor process interruptions
-
Support root cause identification for defects or delays
-
Work closely with operators to maintain maximum output
-
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and safety
-
Support implementation of small improvements (e.g., 5S, layout, tooling)
-
Share best practices across shifts and teams
-
Provide basic on-the-job guidance to new or developing operators
-
Reinforce correct methods, standards, and behaviours
-
Support skills development and cross-training initiatives
Skills/Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing or assembly environment

Strong understanding of quality standards and measurements (metric & imperial)

Good communication and teamwork skills

Methodical, organised, and proactive approach

Basic mechanical awareness (advantageous)

Understanding of 5S
