Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Overview:
We are looking for a driven, pragmatic, and presentable Technician with a high attention to detail, to work as part of our Production team supporting a well-established SME with a friendly team and a worldwide reputation for providing quality products and service excellence in their niche markets.
Rotary Precision Instruments UK Limited has, for over 80 years, been a market leading manufacturer of specialised precision rotary devices for the aerospace and metrology industries. We design and develop and manufacture highly accurate inspection equipment that measure circular geometry and angular positioning.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical Technician to join a small but growing team of assemblers, technicians, and engineers.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated with a good understanding of mechanical assembly and quality control methods and procedures. Some electrical assembly experience would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
· To carry out mechanical assembly work on all products, working to drawings, parts lists, procedures, and work instructions.
· To carry out testing on all products, working to drawings, parts lists, procedures, and work instructions.
· To carry out calibrations of new and existing products in the field to company and ISO standards.
· To carry out strip and survey on products requiring repairs or upgrading.
· To work on prototype work when required.
· Travel to customers sites both nationally and internationally to carry out installations and calibrations of our products.
· To carry out inspection processes in line with QA procedures on all products when required.
· Conform where applicable to company quality management system procedures
· To carry out any packing requirements.
· To follow all guidelines as laid down within drawings, parts lists, procedures, work instructions, risk assessments and QA procedures.
· To following Health and Safety policy and guideline as laid down by the company and their customers.
Skills and Experience
· Completed recognised formal apprenticeship an advantage.
· High degree of self-motivation and attention to detail.
· The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with members of the production team and engineering department to help improve products and processes.
· Ability to follow, understand and comprehend engineering drawings, parts lists, procedures, and work instructions.
Practical training will be given therefore candidates must be capable of learning and open to new practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
