We are looking for a Funeral Operative to help deliver dignified services and care for the deceased with professionalism and empathy. Working in the funeral industry provides meaningful and rewarding work, and gives the chance of making a real difference and building strong community connections.
We are a family run Funeral Directors, established in 1891, and have earned an enviable reputation in providing the best expertise and understanding to the Essex community.
We have offices in Brentwood and Billericay, and a fleet of Classic Rolls Royce Phantoms and Mercedes E Class, plus Land Rover Defenders and support vehicles. Bennetts also help many families through our Bereavement Support Programmes and are involved with various local community and charity activities.
We are currently looking for an additional person to join the team, a full clean driving licence is essential.
Full training will be given but the ideal candidate must have an empathetic nature, good customer service skills, be a supportive and proactive team player and ideally have work related driving experience.
Key responsibilities:
To represent Bennetts Funeral Directors and attend funerals as a driver and bearer
To drive the fleet vehicles in a responsible manner
Assist in the removal of deceased from place of death and mortuaries
General cleaning and workshop duties
Cleaning of our vehicles is also a daily part of the role, so a car enthusiast would be ideal
You will be part of the out of hours on call rota (one week in four), for this reason you will need to live within a 20 minute drive from our Brentwood office
You will also be required to cover Saturday mornings in the office on a rota basis

Pay: £27,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
