Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The successful candidate will assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing staff, ensuring high standards of childcare, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children. Duties
- Assist the Nursery Manager in planning and implementing educational programmes aligned with early childhood development principles.
- Support the supervision and management of nursery staff, including scheduling and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a secure environment for children and staff.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and professional conduct.
- Organise daily activities that promote learning, creativity, and socialisation among children.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and other administrative tasks.
- Support recruitment, training, and mentoring of nursery staff to uphold high standards of childcare.
- Ensure the nursery operates efficiently in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Experience
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Experience working directly with children, demonstrating an understanding of child development and childcare practices.
- Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Previous nursery experience is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate operational needs such as errands or transporting supplies. Pay: £24,420.00-£48,489.15 per year
