At Arbuthnot Latham, our Investment Research team plays a central role in shaping how we invest on behalf of our clients. By developing a clear and considered House View of the global macroeconomic environment, the team directly informs portfolio positioning, asset allocation and investment selection across our discretionary portfolios.
We are seeking to appoint an Investment Research Analyst at either Associate or Junior level, with the level aligned to your experience, capability and readiness to take ownership within the team.
The Role
As a member of our close-knit Investment Research team, you will contribute to macroeconomic, asset class and fund research, supporting the Investment Committee in delivering strong long-term outcomes for our clients.
At Associate level, this is an entry point into investment research, where you will build core skills across macro analysis, fund research, portfolio analytics and operational support, developing your expertise in a supportive, collaborative environment.
At Junior level, you will take on greater responsibility for generating investment ideas, leading research across asset classes, contributing to the House View and actively participating in Investment Committee discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse macroeconomic data and market trends to inform investment positioning
- Support (Associate) or lead (Junior) research across asset classes and investment opportunities
- Conduct fund research, due diligence and ongoing monitoring
- Contribute to the development of the House View and asset allocation decisions
- Prepare research materials, datasets and reporting to support decision-making
- Collaborate with Portfolio Risk & Analytics to support portfolio oversight
- Contribute to research publications and client communications
- Engage with internal stakeholders and external research providers
At Associate level, there is a stronger emphasis on:
- Data management, reporting and investment process support
- Assisting with research preparation and administrative tasks
- Developing technical and investment knowledge
At Junior level, there is greater focus on:
- Independent analysis and idea generation
- Influencing investment debates and supporting decision-making
- Broader ownership of research outputs across the team
