Gleeds is a leading global property and construction consultancy. Independent since 1875, we are proud to deliver award-winning projects around the world. We are a Great Place to Work certified employer, with our people at the heart of everything we do.
Climate change and Sustainability is at the top of our agenda; we have been established within the energy sector for the past 40 years and have achieved significant growth in the past years as we contribute to a sector that will have trillions of pounds of investment over the next decade. Our teams are at the forefront of the change, managing life changing projects in Solar, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Renewables and Defence, and we want you to be part of that too.
The Energy team is expanding, and we are looking to recruit a Project Controls Consultant to play a critical role in supporting the delivery of major, complex projects. This role requires a strong project controls generalist, with broad experience across areas such as planning, cost, risk, change, reporting and performance management. The ideal candidate will be confident working across the full project controls scope, bringing an integrated view of project performance to support effective decision-making.
Your day to day could involve:
- Support the development, maintenance and analysis of project schedules across major and complex programmes.
- Work with project teams to build robust, logic-linked programmes that reflect scope, key milestones, dependencies and delivery constraints.
- Monitor progress against agreed baselines, identifying variances, trends, risks and opportunities.
- Produce clear planning and project controls reports to support decision-making, governance and client reporting requirements.
- Support schedule assurance activities including programme reviews, critical path analysis and assessment of contractor submissions.
- Contribute to integrated project controls by working alongside cost, risk, change and performance management.
- Support the analysis of change impacts on programme, milestones and overall project delivery.
- Facilitate planning workshops and progress meetings with project teams, consultants, contractors and client stakeholders.
- Help maintain project controls processes, tools and data to ensure accurate, consistent and timely reporting.
- Provide insight into schedule performance, highlighting areas of concern and recommending practical recovery or mitigation actions.
- Support the preparation of dashboards, reports and performance updates for internal and client-facing governance forums.
Promote good project controls practice across planning, risk, change, cost and reporting activities.

However, in the consultancy world, no two days are the same! We are a flexible team that support each other’s projects as well as getting in involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development.
