SCHOOL VACANCY
The Joseph Rowntree School is seeking to recruit a HLTA (TA4) to complement the professional work of teachers. The role will focus on numeracy support, with some time spent supporting the team delivering our whole school literacy strategies, so relevant experience in that area would be an advantage. In addition, there will be a requirement to teach a small group of KS2 level learners in conjunction with subject teachers.
Personal qualities should include energy, enthusiasm, resilience, high standards, a strong personality, a sense of perspective and you must be an effective team player.
We offer a range of benefits, including:
-
Full access to Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
- Training and development opportunities (CPD)
- Access to Cycle to Work scheme
- Access to an employee benefit scheme, which offers discounts across a range of products and services from health and wellbeing to leisure and retail.
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 helpline for free and confidential advice
You will find us to the north of the historic city of York in an excellent learning environment with superb facilities.
Please note that, although this role has been advertised as a full year post, there is currently an ongoing consultation to change all TA3 and TA4 roles to term time only contracts to better reflect when work is carried out. If and when this change is agreed, it will result in a change to the salary for the role, which will then be based on the actual weeks per year needed to carry out the role. This may result in a reduction in pay. The current proposal will allow for salaries to be protected for a time before any reduction happens. At the time of this recruitment campaign, negotiations are ongoing and may be subject to change; on appointment you will be informed of the latest status of any changes.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Further details and an application form can be downloaded from our website www.josephrowntreeschool.co.uk. Please use the non-teaching application form for this post and also download the Applicant’s Guidance document – ‘How to Apply’.
