The Role:
- Carrying out general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming and upkeep of shrub beds and floral displays
- Operating tools, machinery and vehicles (mowers, vans, horticultural equipment)
- Maintaining parks, highways, housing estates and public/private spaces
- Completing winter maintenance duties including gritting
- Undertaking basic construction and labouring tasks (paving prep, fencing, ground clearance)
- Ensuring all work is completed safely in line with health & safety regulations
- Completing job sheets, vehicle checks and required paperwork
- Supporting apprentices, temporary staff and community groups where required
The Requirements:
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to carry out manual work and use gardening tools/equipment
- Understanding of health and safety practices (training provided)
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
- Willingness to undertake training and develop skills
