Candor Vets is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a brand-new, modern veterinary surgery in Feltham. This is a unique chance to be instrumental in building and leading a nursing team from its inception, shaping the nursing function and influencing standards from day one.
The Role
This pivotal Head Nurse role is focused on creation and development, rather than just maintenance. The successful candidate will lead the nursing function, ensuring high standards of clinical care, smooth day-to-day operations, and fostering a positive, collaborative team environment. This position offers real influence, both clinically and operationally, within a supportive practice setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and develop the nursing team.
- Ensure excellent patient care and client experience.
- Oversee nurse clinics, inpatient care, and theatre standards.
- Drive the utilisation of nursing skills, including Schedule 3 procedures.
- Support student nurses and clinical coaching.
- Help shape the culture and ways of working within the practice.
Working Pattern
The role offers a full-time rota averaging 39 hours per week, typically consisting of 4 x 9-hour days, with a 1 in 4 weekend rotation. Nurse care nights are also part of the role, with accommodation provided when required. Flexible working options may be considered by the practice.
