Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team in Surrey. The successful candidates will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the educational and social development of students with SEN under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students and monitor their progress.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior and help create a positive learning environment.
- Support students during school activities, including outings and sports events.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to ensure effective support for students.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are advantageous but not essential.
- A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
- PECS or Makaton experience would be beneficial
