Occupational Therapist – Community Based
Rate: £28.40 per hour (Capped West Midlands MOC)
Working Pattern: Hybrid – community‑based role with one office day per week

About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join Walsall Council’s community‑based service. You’ll play a key role in supporting adults with a range of needs, using a person‑centred, strength‑based approach to promote independence, wellbeing, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
You’ll work autonomously within a supportive team structure, managing your own caseload and contributing to high‑quality enablement interventions across the community.
Desirable Requirements
- HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist
- Enhanced DBS (Adults)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Key Responsibilities
- Use strong clinical knowledge of learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and neurodiversity to inform assessments and interventions.
- Deliver high‑quality, strength‑based assessments with a clear person‑centred focus.
- Work confidently and independently as an OT, drawing on previous community experience to guide practice and decision‑making.
- Manage and prioritise your own caseload effectively, with access to long‑arm supervision when required.
- Complete Enablement Assessments and work collaboratively with individuals, carers, and colleagues to develop tailored Enablement Plans.
- Provide clear clinical guidance and instruction to Enablement Officers to support the delivery of effective interventions and positive outcomes.
