The successful candidate will work within the Community HIV team which cover the Liverpool area, however at times you maybe expected to cover the regional clinic if necessary, ( Band 6 Job description will be reviewed later in the year to reflect regional working when necessary)
The post will involve training to become competent in the management of patients with HIV in the community and offering additional support to this cohort of patients where needed.
The role will be fully supported and supervised by established clinical nurse specialists in the community , Lead regional nurse and Medical staff.
Under supervision, support and manage HIV patients, within set protocols.
Develop and maintain clinical expertise and deliver the highest standards of care to meet the needs of the patients, their carers’ and significant others.
The post will involve training to become competent in the management of patients with HIV. Training and assessment will be undertaken.

Provide a blood borne virus testing service as required
Following training order and interpret investigations.
Develop and use own clinical judgment to refer directly to medical staff in line with department guidelines as required.
To liaise and exchange relevant information about patients with other hospital departments when necessary within defined statutory regulations.
Deliver presentations locally to disseminate good practice.
