New Directions is looking to appoint a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community based n Orrell. This is a long term position and rewarding opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them grow in confidence, enjoy learning, and achieve their individual potential.
Working closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and the wider support team, you will play an important role in creating a positive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed. Through tailored support and meaningful relationships, you will help pupils overcome barriers to learning and celebrate every step of their educational journey.
The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Has experience working with children with SEND within a primary school or educational setting.
- Support pupils in accessing a personalised curriculum tailored to their individual needs
The Ideal Candidate
- Has knowledge of additional needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.
- Is confident in managing challenging behaviour in a patient and proactive manner
- Demonstrates resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable pupils
Requirements
- References covering the last 5 years
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- A dedicated and expert Account Manager
