About the SEND Teacher Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet individual pupil needs

Teach and support children with a range of SEN needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and communication difficulties

Use EHCPs, learning plans, and assessment information to help pupils make progress

Create a structured, nurturing classroom where pupils feel safe, supported, and motivated

Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, families, and wider school staff

Adapt your teaching style to suit different learning levels, abilities, and needs

Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage emotional regulation and engagement

Support pupils in Surbiton to build confidence, independence, and key life skills
What We're Looking For in a SEND Teacher
The successful SEND Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status, QTS

Experience teaching children with special educational needs

Primary or secondary teaching experience

A child and adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

A strong understanding of SEN teaching approaches and inclusive practice

Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs, communication needs, or SEMH needs
