We are looking for Therapeutic Childcare Practitioners to join our dedicated teams in children’s residential homes. This role involves working closely with children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, providing support, structure, and a safe environment to help them grow and develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and practical support to children in a residential setting
- Implement therapeutic approaches to promote emotional well-being and stability
- Assist children with daily routines, education, and social activities
- Work as part of a team to create a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to individual care plans
- Work closely with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Support children in developing independent living skills
Requirements
- Level 4 NVQ in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential or the willingness to work towards
- Previous experience working with children in a residential setting (preferred)
- Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child protection
- Ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent, structured support
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
