Osprey Talent is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a valued organisation seeking an enthusiastic Visitor Welcome Assistant to join its customer-facing team.
If you're someone who naturally enjoys helping others, thrives in a busy environment, and believes that great customer service starts with a genuine smile, this could be the perfect opportunity.
Every day is different in this role. From greeting guests and answering questions to supporting events and ensuring visitors feel welcomed throughout their visit, you'll play a key part in creating memorable experiences and maintaining a positive atmosphere.
About the Role
This position is centred around delivering first-class visitor service. You'll act as the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome, assisting with enquiries, processing admissions, and helping ensure the day runs smoothly for both visitors and colleagues.
We're looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, remains calm under pressure, and is committed to delivering consistently high standards of service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Welcome every visitor with a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude.
- Provide accurate information about facilities, events, services, and visitor experiences.
- Process admissions, bookings, memberships, and purchases using electronic till and booking systems.
- Assist with visitor registrations and maintain accurate records where required.
- Help manage busy periods by directing visitor flow and maintaining an organised reception area.
- Support the successful delivery of events, exhibitions, seasonal activities, and special occasions.
- Respond confidently to questions, requests, and feedback, resolving routine issues wherever possible.
- Promote available services, memberships, retail products, and upcoming events.
- Ensure public areas remain clean, welcoming, and ready for visitors throughout the day.
- Work closely with colleagues across different departments to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and security procedures at all times.
- Carry out additional front-of-house duties as required to support the wider team.
What We're Looking For
Success in this role is less about previous job titles and more about your attitude, communication skills, and commitment to excellent customer care.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience in a customer-facing role within hospitality, retail, tourism, leisure, or visitor services.
- A naturally friendly personality and the confidence to engage with people from all backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence using computer systems, booking software, or point-of-sale equipment.
- A flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team when needed.
- The ability to remain composed and positive in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability, enthusiasm, and pride in delivering outstanding service every day.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within a visitor attraction, museum, gallery, heritage venue, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of ticketing or booking systems.
- Cash handling and retail sales experience.
- First Aid certification.
- Additional spoken languages would be an advantage.
Why Apply?
This role offers the opportunity to work in a rewarding customer-focused environment where no two days are the same. You'll receive ongoing support, develop valuable customer service and hospitality skills, and become part of a welcoming team that values professionalism, collaboration, and personal development.
