About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen team in Epsom. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to be part of a friendly, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for your designated section.
- Prepare, cook, and plate high-standard dishes to specification during service.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene (HACCP), and kitchen cleanliness at all times.
- Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and minimising waste.
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with menu development, specials, and seasonal changes.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and presentation.
- Mentor and support Commis Chefs and kitchen porters as required.
- Ensure all equipment is used and maintained correctly.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Sous Chef/Commis experience in a busy kitchen (pub, gastro-pub, or restaurant environment preferred).
- Solid knowledge of British and classic European cooking techniques.
- Passion for fresh, seasonal produce and quality ingredients.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent essential; Level 3 desirable).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively during service.
- Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
