Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Duties
- Clean residents' bedrooms and en-suite facilities to a high standard.
- Clean dining rooms, lounges, corridors, stairways, bathrooms, and communal areas.
- Vacuum, mop, and spot-clean flooring throughout the home.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of waste safely.
- Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, taps, bathroom fixtures, and bedroom furniture.
- Clean bed bases and mattresses in line with infection control procedures.
Weekly Duties
- Polish mirrors and clean windows and windowsills.
- Dust handrails, radiators, skirting boards, lampshades, vents, and light fittings.
- Move furniture where appropriate to clean underneath and behind.
- Sanitize and disinfect commodes.
- Shampoo carpets as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
Additional Responsibilities
- Restock toiletries, towels, soaps, and other supplies as required.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and mandatory induction programmes.
- Follow all Health & Safety, infection control, fire safety, and COSHH procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment in good working order.
- Welcome visitors courteously and ensure they follow the home's sign-in procedures.
- Maintain residents' dignity, privacy, independence, and confidentiality at all times.
About You
Essential
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- 2x Satisfactory employment references.
Desirable
- Previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or hospitality environment.
- Dementia awareness.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
