We are hiring Care Practitioners / Care Assistants for a residential care home in Littlehampton, BN17.
Both day and night shift vacancies are available. This role is suitable for someone with previous care experience who is compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality person-centred care.
You will support residents with daily routines, personal care, wellbeing checks, documentation, and general care needs while maintaining dignity, safety, and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with day, evening, or night routines
- Provide personal care with dignity and compassion
- Respond to resident needs and call bells promptly
- Conduct regular checks in line with care plans
- Support continence care where required
- Assist with mobility, repositioning, and pressure area care
- Monitor and report any changes in residents’ wellbeing
- Maintain accurate care records and handovers
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and fire procedures
- Maintain a calm, safe, and clean environment
- Work as part of the care team and follow guidance from senior staff
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care setting
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care preferred
- Good understanding of person-centred care
- Good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach
- Comfortable working day or night shifts depending on rota
- Able to work weekends as part of the shift pattern
- Right to work in the UK required

Pay Rates
Pay depends on experience, medication training, and qualifications.
New to Care / Non-Medication Trained
- Weekdays: £12.81 per hour
- Weekends: £13.81 per hour
- Overtime: £14.81 per hour
Care Assistant with Less Than 18 Months’ Experience / Medication Trained
- Weekdays: £12.92 per hour
- Weekends: £13.92 per hour
- Overtime: £14.92 per hour
Care Assistant with More Than 18 Months’ Experience / Medication Trained
- Weekdays: £13.02 per hour
- Weekends: £14.02 per hour
- Overtime: £15.02 per hour
Care Assistant with NVQ Level 2
- Weekdays: £13.13 per hour
- Weekends: £14.13 per hour
- Overtime: £15.13 per hour
Care Assistant studying towards or holding NVQ Level 3
- Weekdays: £13.23 per hour
- Weekends: £14.23 per hour
- Overtime: £15.23 per hour
