Housing Support Worker - Days

Who we are looking for?
A Housing Support worker to work with a small team to provide supported housing to vulnerable adults across several sites. Knowledge of issues surrounding Homelessness, Safeguarding, substance misuse, mental health and the criminal justice system would be an advantage. Also, a knowledge of house management issues such as health and Safety and Fire safety would be an advantage. Excellent communication skills to work with people who may have complex needs, both verbally and written. Good recording and computer skills and the ability to work as part of a team as well as the ability to lone work.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Engage with actual and potential referral agencies including local authority central access point/gateway services, statutory and voluntary sector agencies in order to generate referrals for the service as required.
Manage challenging behaviours and display excellent de-escalation skills. Always take a non-judgmental and trauma informed approach.
Manage any Safeguarding concerns and report to your line manager and the Safeguarding lead.
.• Plan and deliver an effective support and safety plan with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required. The progressions/outcomes identified, delivered and service user contact should be recorded, monitored, reviewed, and updated regularly and in line with contract requirements
.• Ensure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and kept at an acceptable standard.
To key work a caseload of service users, carrying out weekly support sessions and identifying any current needs. To work with service users helping them gain the confidence and skills to move on into permanent accommodation.
Your duties may vary from time to time within the broad remit of your role and grade.
