Business Teaching Role in an Outstanding School
An outstanding secondary school in Croydon is seeking to appoint a talented and ambitious Business Teacher to join its successful Business faculty from September. About the Role
You will teach Business across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ commercial awareness, analytical thinking, and understanding of real-world business environments.
Students will explore topics including:
- Marketing and market research
- Business operations and finance
- Human resources and organisational structures
- Entrepreneurship and enterprise
- External influences on business
- Business strategy and decision-making
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business qualifications, supporting them in developing strong analytical, evaluative, and examination skills while encouraging independent thinking and confident communication.
You will work collaboratively within a successful department committed to maintaining outstanding standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Business across KS4 and KS5
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Business lessons
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations
- Use current business trends and real-world case studies to enrich learning
- Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate assessment records
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
- Support enrichment opportunities such as enterprise activities, business competitions, or careers initiatives
- Promote high expectations for behaviour, effort, and academic achievement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Business at secondary level
- Ability to teach KS4 and KS5 confidently
- Strong subject knowledge in Business and enterprise-related topics
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A professional and collaborative approach to teaching
Desirable
- Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations
- Ability to contribute to enterprise or enrichment programmes
- Experience using real-world commercial examples to support learning
- A passion for developing students’ employability and leadership skills
