We are seeking an experienced and operationally focused General Manager to assume full responsibility for the day-to-day running of our independant hotel. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a candidate who combines strong operational discipline with commercial acumen, and who is comfortable engaging directly across all areas of the business — from front-of-house operations to revenue generation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Overseeing hotel rooms — managing room readiness, quality standards, and guest satisfaction across the property
- Running the booking system — keeping reservations accurate, occupancy optimised, and the front desk running smoothly
- Processing payments — handling guest billing, payment systems, and day-to-day financial transactions
- Pitching in on housekeeping — stepping in to support the housekeeping team during busy periods or staff shortages
- Running our small bar — overseeing stock, service, and atmosphere to make it a destination in its own right
- Growing the customer base — developing strategies to attract new guests and build repeat business
- Organising and promoting weekly events — planning engaging events and marketing them to drive footfall and revenue
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in hotel or hospitality management
- A genuinely hands-on approach — happy to help with whatever the day requires
- Confidence managing booking and payment systems
- Bar or front-of-house experience is a strong plus
- A creative mindset for events and marketing
- Strong people skills, with the ability to lead a small team and connect with guests
- Excellent organisational skills and the flexibility to juggle multiple responsibilities
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
