Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work at heights. Duties
- Install new roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, shingles, or metal sheets in accordance with project specifications.
- Repair or replace damaged roofing components, ensuring durability and weather resistance.
- Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure correct installation procedures.
- Use welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and other construction skills as needed for specialised roofing projects.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean work site by organising tools and disposing of debris responsibly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols when working at heights or around hazardous materials.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings related to roofing projects.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or other construction trades is advantageous.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, and measuring devices.
- Competent with power tools including drills, saws, nail guns, and grinders.
- Knowledge of roofing materials and installation techniques specific to different types of roofs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in demanding physical environments.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to working at heights and around construction sites.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and installations.
