Part time Cook Wanted – Join Our Friendly Team at The Woolpack in Chelmsford
We're a welcoming, traditional local pub in Chelmsford , known for hearty food, great pints, and a warm atmosphere. We're on the lookout for a passionate Cook to join our kitchen team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Preparing classic pub dishes – from Sunday roasts to Bangers & Mash
Keeping a clean and well-organized kitchen
Supporting menu planning and specials
Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in a pub or similar kitchen environment (preferred)
A love for traditional British food
Reliable, team-oriented, and good under pressure
Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)

Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Assist in meal preparation for special events or catering services as required.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food output.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies when necessary.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required.
- Creativity in meal preparation and presentation, with an eagerness to learn new culinary skills.
