Hop Union Brewery is a family-run brewery based in Brislington, Bristol. We have been brewing for over 18 years and produce a range of craft beer in cask, keg and cans.
We operate from a modern 27HL brewhouse and have also invested in a 150L pilot kit, which we use to develop and trial new beers in our taproom. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on person to join our production team as a Brewery Assistant / Apprentice Brewer.
This role would suit someone who wants to build a career in brewing. Previous brewing experience would be helpful, but it is not essential. More important is a good attitude, attention to detail, willingness to learn and the ability to work hard in a physical production environment.

Main duties will include:

- Racking beer into cask and keg
- Assisting the Head Brewer and production team on brewdays
- Supporting packaging operations, including canning, labelling, boxing and palletising
- Cleaning and sterilising packaging equipment
- Keeping the brewery clean, safe, tidy and organised
- Following brewery SOPs, HACCP, SALSA, Health & Safety and food safety procedures
- Helping to ensure all beer leaving the brewery is of excellent quality
- Assisting with stock movement and general warehouse duties
- Forklift operation, if trained/licensed
- Covering deliveries when required using a 3.5 tonne van/company vehicle
- Representing the brewery at events and festivals when needed
- Helping in the taproom/shop occasionally, including serving customers and supporting online orders
- Completing essential weekend brewery checks on a rota basis
What we are looking for

- Practical and happy working in a hands-on role
- Interested in beer, brewing and production
- Able to follow instructions and work safely
- Good at keeping things clean, organised and consistent

- Physically fit, as the role involves lifting, moving casks/kegs and working on your feet
- Happy to help across different areas of the business when needed
- Willing to learn and take on more responsibility over time
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence preferred
- Must be able to reliably commute to Brislington, Bristol
- Must be comfortable with physical work and some heavy lifting
