Tutor Doctor – Newcastle upon Tyne
Tutor Doctor is one of Newcastle upon Tyne’s fastest-growing tutoring providers, and we are looking for passionate QTS-qualified tutors to deliver 1-to-1 SEN Maths and English tuition to students across a range of ages and abilities.
This role focuses on personalised learning, helping students build confidence while improving their academic progress through tailored support and mentoring.

Role Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one tuition in Maths and/or English
- Support students with SEN needs and varied learning abilities
- Build strong relationships to support confidence and engagement
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons based on student needs
- Provide feedback on student progress when required
Most tuition is around GCSE and Functional Skills level, although we support students across different age groups.
Sessions are delivered in person at:
- Schools
- Family Hubs
- Public libraries
- Students’ homes
Who This Role Is Ideal For
This position is ideal for qualified teachers who enjoy working one-to-one with students, particularly those who:
- Have experience working in schools or with SEN learners
- Prefer individual tutoring over classroom teaching
- Are looking for flexible or part-time work
- Want to focus on supporting individual student progress
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Daytime availability during school hours
- Experience teaching Maths and/or English
- Experience supporting SEN students (preferred)
Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 25.0 per week
