About the Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Science Technician (Teaching Assistant) to join the science support team at a specialist school in Sutton. This is a varied, hands-on role that blends behind-the-scenes science preparation with direct support for pupils in the classroom.

What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing equipment and materials for science practicals and lessons
- Maintaining, cleaning and safely storing scientific equipment and resources
- Supporting teaching staff in the classroom and during practical activities
- Providing direct support to pupils to help them access and engage with their learning
- Keeping the science department organised, stocked and ready to go
What We're Looking For
- Experience or a genuine interest in supporting science teaching and practicals
- Confidence assisting with classroom preparation and equipment maintenance
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- A positive, proactive attitude and a real willingness to support both pupils and staff
- The ability to build positive, supportive relationships with young people
No formal technician qualification is required — the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn matter most, and full support and training are available.
