SEND Youth Mentor - Derby (DE24) - ASAP Start
Pay: £110 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Temporary / Long-term
Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday
We are currently recruiting for a motivated, resilient, and caring SEND Youth Mentor to work within schools in the Derby (DE24) area for an immediate start.
This is a rewarding role supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to engage positively in education, develop confidence, and improve behaviour, emotional regulation, and wellbeing.

Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs across school settings

Acting as a positive role model and mentor for young people

Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring support

Supporting behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing

Helping pupils re-engage with learning and school life

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

Promoting positive behaviour strategies and coping skills

Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)

Transferable skills from youth work, sports coaching, care, support work, or similar roles welcome

Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

Calm, patient, and resilient approach

Ability to motivate and engage young people

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child & Adult) preferred

OR willingness to obtain a new Child & Adult DBS before starting
