Job Summary
A Support Professional plays a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities and mental health to lead fulfilling lives. This position involves providing support in daily living fostering independence, and enhancing the quality of life for those who we support. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to analyse situations effectively to provide the best possible care.
One sleep in a week £3,484.00 - 2 sleep ins a week £6,968 on top of the basic salary. weekend working and bank holiday hourly rate increase.
Responsibilities
- support individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Support individuals in developing social skills and participating in community activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, including data entry of individuals progress.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive support system.
- Promote independence by encouraging individuals to make choices and decisions regarding their support.
- Engage in training sessions to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a support role or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability to analyse situations critically and respond appropriately to individuals needs.
- Excellent written skills to enable accurate recording.
- A compassionate attitude towards individuals with difficulties and a commitment to their well-being.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of the individuals
- Be able to work part of a team or be able to competently lone work
- Undertake sleep in as and when required
