Site Engineer – Reinforced Concrete Specialist

You don't become an RC Engineer by accident.
You understand tolerances. You understand sequencing. You know that one mistake in reinforced concrete can cost days, sometimes weeks.
Recruit 4 Construction are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major civils project in York.
This role is specifically for engineers who have delivered reinforced concrete packages and can take ownership of works from setting out through to completion.
If your experience is primarily roads, drainage or earthworks, this probably isn't the role for you.
If you've delivered RC structures, managed concrete pours, understood reinforcement details and driven quality on site, we want to hear from you.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Setting out and surveying works.
- Managing reinforced concrete packages.
- Overseeing concrete pours and reinforcement installation.
- Carrying out QA checks and quality inspections.
- Producing and maintaining site records.
- Completing as-built surveys.
- Reviewing drawings and technical information.
- Liaising with site management and subcontractors.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and on programme.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major civils projects.
- Extensive reinforced concrete experience.
- Experience delivering RC structures and concrete packages.
- Competent with setting out equipment.
- Strong understanding of QA procedures and technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of work packages.
Desirable Experience
- Own surveying kit (where applicable).
- Experience using Leica or Trimble equipment.
- Previous infrastructure, energy or large-scale civils projects.
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- Experience working on complex reinforced concrete structures.
