Gorsey Clough Nursing Home are looking for a Domestic Assistant to work within the Housekeeping Team.
Gorsey Clough Nursing Home is a leading provider of person-centred and supportive care for older people living with dementia.
The Home is inspected and rated Outstanding with the Care Quality Commission.
Must be available to work Weekends and Bank Holidays. This is a permanent post as we increase our cleaning regime to ensure maximum precautions are being taken to prevent any outbreaks of infections.
The Role:
· To provide a high standard of cleaning and laundry services within Gorsey Clough in accordance with agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations, and in line with accepted best practices, and within the financial plans agreed from time to time.
· To maintain a clean, tidy, pleasant and malodorous free environment for Residents/Patients.
· To undertake such training and development as may from time to time be required in order to undertake the role including statutory and non-statutory training as required by the Housekeeper and Registered Manager.
Main Duties
To wipe clean all surfaces in the communal areas and the Residents' Bedrooms to ensure they are free from dust and marks.
To dust / wipe picture rails, cornices, dado rails and skirting boards regularly, using the appropriate equipment, to ensure they are dust, stain and cob web free.
To vacuum all carpeted areas.
To mop hard floors using the appropriately coloured mop and bucket for the area being cleaned e.g. green for communal areas such as the dining room, red for toilets.
To empty rubbish bins ensuring the contents are disposed of in the appropriate recycling bins.
To clean bathrooms and toilets using the appropriate cleaning materials and equipment.
Ensure that all cleaning materials are stored appropriately and not left unattended at any time.
To display the relevant hazard notices during cleaning and post cleaning.
To wear the appropriate protective clothing such as disposable aprons and gloves, disposing of them appropriately after use.
Always follow Health and Safety and Infection Control policies and procedures.
Implement action to meet and maintain cleaning standards.
Maintain standards of cleaning competence.
In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required.
Qualifications Required
Non-specific but will be expected to undertake:
· Mandatory training.
· All statutory training including Health and Safety
· Any non-statutory training pertinent to the role.
