Overview
We are seeking a responsible and caring Driver/Dog Walker to join our team. This role involves transporting dogs to various locations and providing attentive dog walking services, ensuring the animals' safety and well-being throughout their outings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to handle active dogs during walks. Previous animal care background is an advantageous, but not essential. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work outdoors and make a positive impact on pets and their owners.
Duties
- Safely transport dogs to designated parks and walking routes.
- Provide attentive and engaging walks for dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
- Ensure the safety of all animals during transit and walks, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Assist with basic animal care tasks such as feeding or administering medication if required (training provided)
- Maintain clean and organised equipment, including leashes, harnesses, and transport crates
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ behaviour, health, and any concerns during walks or transport
- Report any behavioural issues or health concerns observed during duties to the appropriate personnel
Requirements
- Prior background in animal care is preferred but not mandatory
- Genuine love for animals with a compassionate attitude towards pets of all breeds and sizes
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting large or energetic dogs into vehicles
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to travel between locations efficiently
- Physical fitness to handle active dogs during walks and transport duties
- Responsible, punctual, organised, and able to follow safety procedures diligently
