Experienced Roadside Recovery Technician Role in South West London
Our client, a leading provider of roadside assistance services in South West London, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Roadside Recovery Technician to join their busy patrol team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled motor trade professional to develop their career within a reputable organisation, offering substantial earning potential, technical development, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Benefits:
- Competitive basic salary of £53,720, inclusive of South West London weighting
- Realistic on-target earnings (OTE) of £58,000, with bonuses and enhanced overtime rates
- Fully paid hotel, food, fuel, and travel expenses for out-of-area assignments up to 4 weeks annually
- Shift pattern provided 7 days in advance, with varied shifts including weekends
- Opportunity for car salary sacrifice after 12 months of service
- Generous holiday entitlement starting at 23 days plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service
- Overtime generally non-compulsory, with additional premiums available for optional hours
- Ongoing technical training and skills development at the employer’s training centre
Duties:
- Provide roadside recovery for a range of breakdowns such as tyre replacements, battery jumps, and alternator issues
- Recover vehicles to local garages when repairs cannot be completed roadside
- Conduct diagnostics and perform minor repairs to get customers back on the road efficiently
- Deliver exceptional customer service in potentially stressful situations
- Work outdoors under various weather conditions and in challenging environments
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain high standards of professionalism
- Be flexible with working hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays
- Stay out of area for up to 4 weeks per year for training and technical upskilling, fully paid, with all expenses covered
Requirements for the Roadside Recovery Technician position:
- Previous experience as a roadside recovery technician or similar role
- Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and minor repairs
- Resilient attitude with excellent customer service skills and professionalism
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays
- Full valid UK driving licence; recovery or breakdown assistance qualifications are advantageous
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and challenging environments
- Reliable, professional, and customer-focused demeanour
- No issues working away from home for extended periods
