Personal Assistant / Carer – SE12, Lewisham
£18.34 per hour (PAYE)
A Personal Assistant is required to support an individual with a C4 spinal cord injury living in SE12, Lewisham. After the morning routine is completed, the individual is fully independent for the rest of the day.

- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 2:30pm
Additional opportunities:
- Relief cover for holidays and sickness
- Approximately 6 weeks per year of planned live-in care
- Applicants must be willing to undertake live-in care, including availability over the Christmas and New Year period
Key Responsibilities
- Overhead hoist transfers (bed, shower chair, toilet and shower)
- Personal care, including bowel care with suppository support and an understanding of manual evacuation
- Full morning personal care routine, including dressing and grooming
- Support with non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
- Meal preparation
- Light household duties including laundry, changing bed linen, washing up, vacuuming and keeping the home clean and tidy
- Supporting independence
Essential Requirements
- Hoist and manual handling experience
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Willingness to undertake planned live-in care
Desirable
- Experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries or other complex care needs
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
Full training and guidance will be provided for non-invasive ventilation (NIV) and manual evacuation procedures. Applicants should already have practical care experience and be confident with hoist and manual handling.
