Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: £16.78 PH
We are seeking a dedicated, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our specialist SEN school in Oldham from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including pupils who may display challenging behaviours, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD and communication difficulties.

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.

Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal development.

Support pupils in managing their behaviour and emotions within the classroom and around the school.

Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to implement behaviour support strategies.

Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Assist with de-escalation techniques and behaviour interventions when required.

Encourage positive social interaction, confidence and independence.

Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, SEMH, education, youth work or care setting.

Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

A calm, patient and resilient approach.

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential.

Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential.
