HR Generalist – Part-Time, Sowton Exeter
Little & Cull are a successful food manufacturer based in Devon and we are looking for a Part-Time HR Generalist to join our HR department. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person, you’ll play a key part in delivering effective, best practice, HR support within the business supporting every action with strong administration and record keeping. You will contribute to the engagement, attendance and retention of our employees. It is a fast-paced environment, so you need to be organised and have excellent communication skills to build strong relationships across the business.
Exeter based (Sowton Industrial Estate) you will provide support across our sites in Exeter and Newton Abbot, so you must have your own transport and be able to travel.
Key responsibilities:
· Providing advice, guidance and support to staff and managers in line with policies and procedures.
· Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll manage HR case work – holding investigations, dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures in line with company approach and with every detail documented.
· Recruitment – working closely with the team, you’ll be involved in the recruitment process from advert to induction and everything in between to ensure a smooth process.
· Administration – personnel file management, typing minutes of meetings, updating BHR, reporting statistics, updating rota’s and monitoring stationary requirements are just some of the tasks. Strong administration skills and an eye for detail are essential!
· You’ll play a part in delivering company projects; staff questionnaires, staff training, appraisals, arranging social events supporting audits as required.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has had experience within a busy HR role, ideally within a manufacturing or similar environment. You need to be adaptable and flexible – no one day is the same!
Based at our Exeter site (located in Sowton Industrial Estate), you will also be required to attend our Head Office, based in Heathfield, Newton Abbot. This will be a regular requirement during your training/probation period and then when/as required to support casework across the business, therefore it is essential that you have your own transport.
Working in a small team means that you will be involved in all aspects of the department and need to be prepared to get stuck in, the right attitude is key.

This is a part-time role up to 27.5 hours per week. Due to the role responsibilities, we do require at least two 8am starts and two 4.30pm finishes but we are flexible about how this can be managed across the week – for us it is about getting the right candidate for the role.
Hours: Monday to Friday – Part-Time
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (pro rata figure based on hours agreed) subject to experience
