About the Role
We are recruiting a confident and experienced HLTA to join a supportive SEN school in Redhill. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children and young people with a range of complex additional needs, supporting learning, development, and independence across the school.
You will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, leading small group interventions, and occasionally covering classes under the guidance of teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions under teacher direction
- Support pupils with needs including Autism (ASC), SLD, PMLD, and SEMH
- Assist with planning and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Provide class cover and lead learning sessions where required
- Support behaviour regulation using positive and consistent strategies
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN support staff
- Help implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans
- Support pupils with communication, sensory, and emotional needs
- Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience working within a school or SEN setting
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and behaviour support
- Confident delivering learning activities and supporting class groups
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
- Experience in a specialist SEN school
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or AAC systems
- Experience supporting pupils with complex or non-verbal needs

Pay: £100.00-£135.00 per day
