OCU are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and strategic professional who thrives on leading complex Substation projects, building strong stakeholder relationships, and delivering exceptional outcomes.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale Substation projects in London from initiation through to successful completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. You will play a pivotal role in driving project success, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing risks, and ensuring client expectations are consistently exceeded.
You will lead complex Substation Projects, drive excellence and deliver results.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Lead project delivery, ensuring milestones and objectives are achieved.
- Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolving issues proactively.
- Manage project financial performance, reporting, and forecasting.
- Ensure quality standards and compliance requirements are met.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to project teams.
To succeed in this role, you will be a confident and commercially aware project leader with a proven track record of delivering complex projects successfully.
- A degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience delivering high-voltage cable route projects (33kV–132kV+), from planning and design through to installation and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of HV cable systems, civil construction methods, and associated infrastructure.
- Demonstrable project management experience, including programme management, risk mitigation, budget control, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience working alongside clients, local authorities, landowners, utilities, and contractors.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
- Proficiency in project planning software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
- A good understanding of industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements within the utilities or power sector.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills.
Professional qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or APM PMQ are desirable but not essential.
