Purpose:
To deliver Mediation and Dispute Resolution Meetings as per the process standards and SEND legislation. Mediation is an impartial voluntary statutory service offered to parents and carers to help settle disputes between local authority, health and schools.
General Duties:
The general duties that you will be expected to undertake in the role are as follows:
1. To receive and action enquiries made to POINT Mediation and Disagreement Resolution Service whether in person, by email, by telephone, at events, meetings or in writing.
2. To work within the framework of Oldham’s Parental and Young Persons Engagement Values at all times, actively promoting the voice of the child/young person throughout the work undertaken with families.
3. Deliver accurate advice relating to the SEND Mediation and Disagreement Resolution service.
4. Undertake signposting to additional sources of Information, Advice, and support where necessary.
5. Accurate recording of service user information on POINT’s Database systems.
6. Plan Mediation and Disagreement Resolution meetings on behalf of our service users or the organisation.
7. Adhere to all timelines in both the Mediation and Disagreement Resolution service delivery process and SEND Legislation.
8. Undertake professional Mediation qualification and maintain / develop those skills to support the ongoing development of the service.
9. Ensure a sound knowledge of SEND Legislation is maintained and undertake any required professional development to maintain adequate knowledge to secure appropriate delivery of the SEND Mediation and Disagreement Resolution service.
10. To maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR/Data Protection legislation at all times.
11. UK Driving Licence essential and willingness to work across the Northwest of England.
12. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
