Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader to oversee and support our nursery’s baby room. This role is vital in providing a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for infants, ensuring high standards of childcare and early childhood development. The successful candidate will bring strong management and leadership skills, along with a genuine passion for working with young children. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the early years of children’s lives while working within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the baby room team, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality care.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote development, curiosity, and learning in infants.
- Ensure all children’s individual needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, attendance, and any incidents or concerns.
- Foster effective communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's wellbeing and development.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and safeguarding policies to create a secure environment for children and staff.
- Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and guidance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the nursery’s standards are consistently maintained.
- Assist with organising daily routines such as feeding, nappy changing, and sleep schedules in line with best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting, particularly with infants.
- Strong management and leadership skills to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Level 3 Childcare qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in a leadership roles is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating initiative.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Successful candidates will need to present original copies of documentation to demonstrate proof of their identity, proof of address and proof of their right to work in the UK.
